Dibal started its activity in 1974 with the manufacturing of scales. In 1985 joined the Novatronic Group, specialist in electronic engineering and communications.
The integration of the know-how of Novatronic and the experience of Dibal in the weighing sector, allowed us to launch in 1986 a new model of scale equipped with a computer connection system pioneer in Spain.
Three years later, Dibal developed a scale with two printers (receipts and labels), an innovative and practical solution which has highly reduced the operating cost of our customers.
After that, Dibal extended its product range by developing, in 1992, industrial weighing systems and automatic weighing and labeling systems, becoming a complete solution for shops and industry.
Since 1996 Dibal Quality System is being certified by AENOR, (an IQNet member) under ISO 9001 standards, being the first Spanish manufacturer of scales certified under that norm.
The continuous growth experimented by Dibal along its history reflects the acceptance of our products and the confidence of our clients and users. Up to date, Dibal is the Spanish leading brand in retail scales (with approx. a 25% market share) and one of the International references in computer connected scales.
In the Spanish big food distribution chains -a market specially exigent regarding quality and features- Dibal products count with an outstanding position, being present in 60 of 100 top chains, with a market share in this sector over 45% of the scales installed.
In parallel with the success of our products in Spain, exports are continuously growing since the first operations around 1991. At the moment, exports represent over 50% of our production, through our network of importers in more than 40 countries or by means of OEM agreements with important international firms such as PRECIA-MOLEN in France or TOSHIBA-TEC in all Europe. The international vocation of Dibal was reinforced in year 2000 with the opening of sister companies in Italy and Poland.

Detecto Scale Company was started in 1900 in New York City by three immigrant brothers (The Jacobs Brothers) in the butcher supply business. The company produced bakers' dough scales, butchers' scales, clinical scales, counter scales and hanging scales.
In 1981 the company was acquired by Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company based in Webb City, Missouri where its corporate offices and manufacturing facilities are still located today. Cardinal was a well-known name in the heavy-duty truck scale and floor scale market, so the acquisition was a good fit to give the company a complete line-up of scales across a broad spectrum of markets.
